Location: Pilot RockHead Cook
The Head Cook is responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen. Coordinate the preparation and delivery of bulk food orders. Performs inventory tracking and ordering. The Head Cook is also responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Hold a valid Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain
- Knowledge in the use and maintenance of industrial kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of ingredients, supplies and methods used in cooking
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety regulations for chemical use in the kitchen
- Experience in preparing and serving food to a large number of people preferred
- Successfully pass background check
Skills:
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Proficient use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
- Physical ability to perform required work
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to establish good relationships with students and staff
- Ability to assess situations and act swiftly and appropriately and with sound judgment for the safety and wellbeing of students and staff
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions
Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environmentAnnually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-dateFollow site and/or District protocol for reporting absencesUtilize the District's electronic systems and applications related to the jobMaintain a list of students with their food allergies and plan for accommodating those restrictionsPrepare and serve food that contains the required daily nutrients in a quick and pleasant mannerProduce and maintain daily production records and submit them to the District Office monthlyPlan menus, keeping budget considerations in mindPurchase food and suppliesStock shelves and freezers with the necessary food itemsEnsure that the kitchen and its equipment are clean and sanitarySupervise student helpers and/or assistantsWash and sanitize all dishes and utensils dailyOrder government commodities as availableResponsible for cleaning kitchen (custodian will clean cafeteria and sweep/mop kitchen area);
The Head Cook may delegate cleaning duties to assistant cook to ensure the kitchen stays cleanPrepare extra meals for student groups as requested by the PrincipalReport any maintenance problems and/or safety concerns to the PrincipalInventory all items and equipment annually or as requiredMaintain records of food, supplies and mealsBudget and make requests for needed supplies and equipmentPrepare monthly reports as requiredEnsure compliance with federal, state, and District food safety regulations and nutritional standardsCoordinate and train kitchen staff in daily operationsCoordinate catering services for district and school functions and process related documentsPerform other reasonable duties that from time to time may be assigned to meet the usual and unusual demands placed on the organizationSpecific responsibilities and essential functions related to assignment (_____ have) or (_____ have not) been attachedWork Place Expectations:
