Job Summary

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating group sales revenue through proactive sales activities, including solicitation, networking, and relationship development. This role manages group bookings, coordinates with internal departments to ensure successful events, and develops sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals while maintaining client satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Duties
  • Prospect for new group business through solicitation, networking, and cold‑calling.
  • Increase hotel visibility by conducting outside sales calls, blitzes, and attending trade shows and market‑related events.
  • Design and execute marketing promotions and campaigns, including direct mail, social media, and ads.
  • Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals and profit margins.
  • Maintain an active list of accounts to ensure continuous relationship development and repeat business.
  • Develop and implement focused, aggressive action plans to drive group sales.
  • Communicate with internal business partners regarding upcoming group needs, VIP clients, and meeting functions.
  • Maintain client satisfaction and loyalty through consistent relationship management and excellent service.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.
  • Ensure high standards of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to company dress code.
  • Attend sales meetings and collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible management experience in Group Sales.
  • or a 4‑year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with 5 years of sales experience.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in managing client relationships.
  • Proficiency in creating and executing marketing campaigns, including digital and direct mail promotions.
  • Experience with Sales Pro or similar CRM systems is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity to develop sales strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while taking initiative in a fast‑paced environment.
Work Environment

Primarily indoor office work with occasional travel for sales calls, events, and client meetings. Regular use of computers and communication tools to manage accounts and coordinate with clients and internal teams. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business and client needs.
