Contractor Sales

Gold Beach Lumber Yard, Inc. is seeking a Contractor Sales professional to serve local builders, remodelers, and DIY customers. In this role, you'll advise customers on lumber, hardware, and building materials, prepare quotes, and process orders at the counter and by phone. You'll build strong relationships with contractors, coordinate with the yard and delivery teams, and help manage special orders. Daily tasks include product lookups, estimating material needs from basic plans, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring accurate tickets, all while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service to our community.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and retail customers with product selection for lumber, hardware, and building materials
• Provide material takeoffs and basic estimates from customer plans or project descriptions
• Prepare and process quotes, special orders, and sales tickets accurately
• Build and maintain relationships with local builders, remodelers, and DIY customers
• Coordinate with yard and delivery teams to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
• Maintain product knowledge on lumber, fasteners, tools, and related building products
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and follow up on open quotes and orders
• Support merchandising, stocking, and cleanliness in the sales and counter areas
• Use POS and inventory systems for product lookup, pricing, and stock checks
• Follow company policies for safety, cash handling, and customer service standards
