Environmental Technician

Position

Apex Companies is seeking an Environmental Technician to be based in Lexington, Oregon. The position is long‑term and field‑based, supporting a solar development project in rural Lexington with a schedule of 4–6 10‑hour days per week.

$27 – $30 per hour.

• Perform stormwater inspections to verify permit compliance.
• Complete daily field documentation (forms, logs, photos).
• Communicate promptly any deficiencies in stormwater erosion controls to the project management team.
• Support data review and prepare brief summaries/reports of inspection and sampling results.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass a pre‑employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening (drug‑free workplace).
• Physical ability to perform various tasks (bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.) and work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Experience in industrial hygiene, environmental science, biology, health and safety, or a related field.
• Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) certification or similar (training will be provided if certification is not active).
