Data Center Physical Security Specialist, AMER-NW Data Center Security

We are looking for an exceptional Data Center Security Specialist with a strong track record of supporting security programs within data center facilities, demonstrable program/project management experience, comprehensive security operations knowledge, and a deep understanding of physical security standards, processes, and requirements.

As a Data Center Security Specialist (DSS) at an AWS site, you will:

• Own the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of fast‑moving operations.
• Manage a wide array of projects protecting personnel, customer data, and critical infrastructure.
• Manage onsite security forces and deliver exceptional services in an environment where priorities shift quickly.
• Operate independently, triage and prioritize tasks, communicate clearly, and think creatively to deliver products and services.

Key job responsibilities include:

• Managing physical security operations, developing post orders, and defining security procedures.
• Handling site incidents, working with security equipment, and participating in construction projects.
• Driving day‑to‑day process improvement activities and managing vendors.
• Ensuring consistent deployment of security policies, participating in recurring site audits, and testing new security technologies.
• Developing and executing metrics to track improvements, analyzing data to improve electronic surveillance and access controls, and reducing false alarms.
• Writing reports, creating presentations, and communicating status to management.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years overseeing security operations with vendor/contractor experience.
• 2+ years project management experience.
• 3+ years process improvement procedures experience.
• 3+ years vendor management or relevant discipline work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 5+ years experience in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement.
• 2+ years root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem solving experience.
• 2+ years work in identifying security issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
• 4+ years writing detailed reports.
• Familiarity with security program automation, implementation, and various access/intrusion control systems.
• Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules, and manage adherence to established timetables.

The base salary range for this position is 28.00 – 50.00 USD hourly. Compensation may include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units, depending on experience.
