Data Center Physical Security Specialist, AMER-NW Data Center Security
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep our customers’ innovations running. We’re looking for an exceptional Data Center Security Specialist with extensive experience supporting security programs within data center facilities, program and project management, security operations, and physical security standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage physical security operations, develop post orders, define security procedures, handle site incidents, work with security equipment, participate in construction projects, drive day‑to‑day process improvement activities, and manage vendors.
- Ensure consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures; participate in recurring site audits, reviews, and test new security technologies.
- Demonstrate resilient leadership, flexibility in a dynamic environment, deep knowledge of security practices, and strong written and verbal communication.
As a Data Center Security Specialist you will drive operational security excellence across several facilities within a short driving distance. You’ll discover physical security gaps, coordinate vendors for construction and repairs, monitor electronic surveillance and access controls, reduce false alarms, write reports, create presentations, and communicate status with management.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- 3+ years of process improvement procedures experience.
- 3+ years of vendor management or relevant discipline work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 5+ years in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement.
- 2+ years of root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem‑solving experience.
- 2+ years of work identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
- 4+ years of writing detailed reports.
- Familiarity with security program automation, implementation, and various Access/Intrusion Control Systems.
- Ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules, and manage adherence to established timetables.
