Cluster Security Manager, Data Center Security
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and serve customers and developers worldwide who rely on storage, compute, and other services that power Amazon’s consumer, digital and AWS businesses. This role requires a detail-oriented, experienced professional to manage the security of large critical infrastructure installations, ideally data centers, and lead a team of security managers across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain robust customer relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of security processes and enable the delivery of effective security responses.
- Plan, develop, and implement security plans and programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, and Incident Management, and coordinate site investigations with the Global Intelligence and Investigative team.
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues, and security technology, and update management on risks and threats that could impact data centers.
- Perform annual risk analyses for assigned data center sites, focusing on crime, terrorism, workplace violence, and natural and man‑made disasters.
- Provide leadership and best practices to on‑site Cluster/Campus Data Center Management Teams on security policy and practices.
- Identify exposures, provide recommendations, and develop corrective plans to be presented to higher‑level management.
- Lead and advise AWS Data Center staff and contract security force staff in achieving current and long‑range strategic program objectives.
- Support security management and assist in conducting investigations of significant threats or the loss or misappropriation of assets.
- Serve as liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for assigned locations.
- 10+ years of physical security experience
- 5+ years of security management experience
- 5+ years of leadership role experience
- Experience in security operations in a leadership role
- Experience in physical security best practices, including application of physical security systems, investigation techniques, management of contract security guards, and incident management
- Experience in program management or services deploying technology solutions
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Advanced degree or certifications such as CPP, CISSP, PSP, PMP
- Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen
