Job Description- Active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI Clearance
The Electrician is responsible for performing installs, repairs, tests/diagnose and maintenance to a variety of equipment and electrical systems in accordance with accepted codes, standards and manufacturer’s recommendations. Including:
Installation of electrical utilization equipment (such as motors, HVAC units, etc.), wiring, wire pulls, splices, lighting fixtures, lighting systems, power equipment, switches, relays, circuit breakers, panels, electrical conduit, etc.
- Install, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment and electrical systems.
- Analyze, plan, coordinate and perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot problems, inform leadership and make timely repairs.
- Plan shutdowns, read blueprints, technical diagrams and original equipment manufacturer’s documents.
- Install and maintain wiring, controls, and lighting systems, conduit, transformers and circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to electrical systems.
- Maintain maintenance records and adhere to all city, federal regulatory statutes, state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and NFPA 70 standards.
- Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain electrical systems.
- Assist logistics in maintaining strategic electrical spares and other as needed electrical parts in warehouses.
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
- Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
- Manage relationships with all major vendor accounts.
- Maintain a high quality of service at all times.
- Strong trouble‑shooter and problem‑solving skills.
- Properly maintain and safeguard assets.
- Follow strict safety protocols and use appropriate tools and equipment like ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and boom trucks.
- Able to work well on a team.
- Other duties as required.
Job Requirements
- A combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
Job Requirements
- Active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Electrical Experience 4 Years Required (either 4 years of apprenticeship or 2 years of formal coursework in an electrical trades school equivalent and 2 years of experience).
- Journeyman license/certificate or equivalent is required.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Required ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15‑50 pounds), sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, may experience prolonged and irregular work hours, and work with frequent interruptions.
- Available to be On‑Call for emergencies, after‑hours work and snow removal.
- Ability to perform general maintenance when required and assist other trades.
