Shop Technician

Overview

Routinely diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain equipment in shop or field to meet efficiency standards. Operate farm/dairy equipment and may perform fabrication or welding repairs.

• Be a self-starter; work independently as well as with other team members and management.
• Attend required meetings and training; participate in constructive discussion.
• Follow safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments; adhere to policies and procedures.
• Present a professional image in the presence of customers and the community.
• Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training to develop knowledge and skills.
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a focus on teamwork and customer service.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
• Perform functions of Shop Tech I.
• General welding repairs and fabrication as needed.
• Conduct general diagnosis and begin learning advanced diagnosis, testing, and repair for most equipment in the shop or in the field; report findings to appropriate parties.
• Maintain good working records for time, parts, and supplies.
• Work safely while using tools and general farm equipment with consideration for others.

• Knowledge of farm machines and equipment, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• High School Diploma, GED, Mechanical Certification, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
