As part of the Data Center Global Services team, this Controls Technician will install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across Amazon data center sites. The role supports multiple sites under deployment and service, ensuring optimal building controls, safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Primarily work in the field at Data Center sites, supporting multiple locations under Deployment and/or Service.
- Perform point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation associated with the BMS and EPMS.
- Configure network settings and test communications between third‑party devices, controllers, and servers.
- Calibrate sensors, read and understand electrical schematics and control panel drawings, and apply knowledge of closed‑loop controls and field‑sensor scaling.
- Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors during wiring and installation of field devices.
- Provide commissioning and systems‑level testing support, including root‑cause analysis.
- Ensure all on‑site personnel use proper safety methodology.
- Work on‑call and on a rotating schedule, including after‑hours emergencies.
- Utilize ticketing systems, root‑cause analysis, and task prioritization for basic support concepts.
• Walk on uneven terrain, work at heights, climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring use of hands, fingers, arms, and limbs.
• Lift or move up to 49 pounds, participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more.
• Work shifts longer than eight hours per day.
Basic Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of professional work experience or technical experience with computer systems and technology components.
- 1+ year of experience in electrical or mechanical work, or in mission‑critical facilities such as hospitals, military, or public safety.
- Technical or trade school diploma/associate degree with at least one year of experience in industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical/mechanical operations.
- 1+ year of work experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher.
- Understanding of industrial controls systems, controllers, and programming, including analog, discrete, and networked input/output field‑signals.

Compensation & BenefitsHourly Salary: $32.00 – $57.00 USD (USA, OR, Boardman).
