Millwright – Skilled Industrial Maintenance Role

This role involves advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance work with a direct impact on mill performance. You’ll work in a stable, year‑round manufacturing environment with a clear path into senior maintenance and leadership roles.

Consistent full‑time schedule: Swing Shift, Wednesday–Saturday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.

Compensation & Benefits

Wages

  • $44.00–$48.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • $1.50/hr swing shift differential
  • $2.00/hr graveyard differential
  • Overtime at time‑and‑a‑half

What You’ll Do

As a Millwright, you ensure mill equipment runs safely, reliably, and efficiently. Your work includes:

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Maintain, install, repair, and improve mill machinery (conveyors, saws, kilns, de‑barkers)
  • Diagnose performance issues and implement corrective solutions
Technical Expertise

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repair
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Work alongside electricians on electrical components
  • Evaluate equipment efficiency and recommend improvements
Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, parts inventory, and closing reports
  • Communicate proactively with all departments
  • Educate maintenance and operations teams on evolving programs
Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze quality, safety, and production processes
  • Recommend new approaches and best practices
  • Partner with operators to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
Safety & Compliance

  • Follow and model strict safety protocols
  • Prioritize workplace safety above all else
  • Work cross‑functionally to maintain safe operations
  • This is hands‑on, technical work in a fast‑paced industrial environment where your expertise directly impacts uptime, safety, and mill performance.
Experience



Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience
  • Sawmill experience preferred
Technical Skills

  • Proficient with mechanical systems: conveyors, saws, kilns, de‑barkers
  • Skilled in welding and fabrication
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Basic electrical understanding and electrical safety practices
  • Strong mechanical problem‑solving abilities
Work Style & Competencies
