Empowered Services provides one-on-one, in‑home and community‑based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) deliver person‑centered care that promotes independence, builds Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and supports meaningful community engagement.
Role OverviewWe are hiring an entry‑level Community Support Specialist (Direct Support Professional / DSP / Caregiver) to provide part‑time, one‑on‑one support in the Dayton, OR area. This role is a strong fit for someone who is reliable, patient, and comfortable providing structure, while also encouraging independence and positive routines in both home and community settings.
Who You’ll Be SupportingYou’ll be supporting an adult who enjoys staying active and involved in the community, especially through Special Olympics basketball and bowling.
Key Support Needs- Maintaining consistent routines and expectations
- Assistance with transportation and community participation
- Support with daily living skills and responsibilities
- Guidance around social boundaries and independence
- Provide ADL support (Activities of Daily Living) including hygiene, routines, and household tasks
- Assist with transportation to practices, appointments, and community outings
- Support community‑based activities such as sports, events, and social engagement
- Encourage independence, routine‑building, and life skill development
- Provide behavioral support and clear, consistent boundaries
- Assist with light cleaning and home organization
- Maintain professional communication and accurate documentation
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and structured environment
- Tuesdays: 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
- Additional 6–8 hours per week (flexible for cleaning support and outings)
- $23–$25/hour (based on experience, skills, and certifications)
- Full‑time employees (30+ hours/week) are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance; 401(k) with employer match;
Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance
- Ability to pass a background check (not all records disqualify)
- Comfortable supporting personal care (ADLs)
- Experience in caregiving, DSP, or community support roles
- Experience supporting individuals with IDD / developmental disabilities
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Consistent part‑time schedule with flexibility
- Work one‑on‑one—no facility or group‑home burnout
- Active role with community‑based support and outings
