Juvenile Parole & Probation Assistant (JPPA)

Are you ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of youth working toward a second chance? The Oregon Youth Authority is seeking a Juvenile Parole and Probation Assistant (JPPA) to join our Marion/Polk Field Office team, providing hands-on support to Juvenile Parole and Probation Officers as they guide youth through community supervision and rehabilitation. In this para-professional role, you'll monitor youth progress, coordinate transportation and community resources, prepare case documentation, and build trusting relationships with youth, families, and community partners — all in service of helping young people build safer, more stable futures.

This is an excellent entry point into OYA's Parole and Probation series, ideal for someone early in a social services or corrections career who wants mentorship from experienced officers while making a meaningful, tangible impact in Marion and Polk counties.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Supervise and monitor youths' behavior in the community and in facilities, including securing transport and conducting required searches under an officer's direction.
• Prepare case notes, progress reports, and court- or school-related documentation, and enter information into the Juvenile Justice Information System.
• Interview youth, families, victims, and other parties to gather and verify background information used in case review and recommendations.
• Connect youth to community resources — treatment, education, employment, and housing supports — to help facilitate successful rehabilitation.
• Support Juvenile Parole and Probation Officers with case management backup, case file review, and testimony in court or administrative hearings as needed.
