Home Visitor – Relief Nursery

• Provide parenting information, resources, and support to highly stressed parents as part of the Relief Nursery team at A Family Place
• Provide intensive home visiting services
• Facilitate groups as needed
• Eventually serve as a lead staff member providing regular respite opportunities for families in Lake County
• Collaborate with staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners to support keeping children safe and families together
• Maintain a caseload of 15–20 families
• Complete accurate documentation, including releases, medical information, and emergency contacts
• Conduct home, community, and site visits
• Transport families to and from community resources and AFGP events using a personal car when needed
• Assess child development using evidence-based tools
• Provide resources, referrals, and crisis support
• Communicate developmental goals and progress to families
• Model positive interactions and promote problem-solving skills
• Provide planned respite care as lead teacher and ensure inclusive practices for children with disabilities
• Advocate for families and coordinate services, including representing AFGP at community and IFSP meetings
• Apply diversity, equity, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed care principles
• Participate in professional development, supervision, meetings, trainings, and weekly reflective supervision sessions with the Program Supervisor

• 1 year of related experience working with families with multiple risk factors and knowledge of the community
• Associate’s / Bachelor’s / master's in early childhood or related field OR Step 9 or bachelor's degree in early childhood or education
• Credentials may be required depending on individual program or location requirements
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
• Basic mastery of business applications and productivity suites
• Resilience, awareness, and self-regulation in navigating challenges, conflict, and obstacles/barriers
• Ability to thrive in a diverse and multicultural environment and work with cross‑functional teams
• Commitment to serving and advocating for diverse and marginalized populations
• Ability to successfully complete tasks in a moderately noisy environment
• Ability to perform in‑person and technology‑based tasks with moderate stationary and increased physical activity
• Ability to move equipment/materials weighing up to 40 pounds and carry children weighing up to 40 pounds in emergency situations
• Ability to travel between worksites regularly
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and motor vehicle records clearance
• LCSNW criminal background clearance and other job‑relevant clearances as required by the State or program
• Must be enrolled in the Central Background Registry (C ), Oregon Dept of Early Learning and Care Registry
• Ability to work some evening hours

Demonstrates expertise in providing parenting support and resources, conducting assessments of child development, and advocating for families in diverse and multicultural environments. Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with community partners to ensure child safety and family cohesion.
