King County Metro’s Rail Division manages and maintains Sound Transit's Link Light Rail, a growing network spanning 60 miles and serving 38 stations across the Puget Sound region.

This recruitment’s selection process may be used to establish an eligibility pool to fill future career service vacancies in this classification and within this division over the next year (12 months) and will be utilized at the discretion of the hiring authority.

1st Shift (Day): $25.66-$36.66 | 2nd Shift (Swing): $26.94-$38.49 | 3rd Shift (Graveyard): $27.58-$39.41

• At least one year of direct professional industrial cleaning/janitorial experience within the past 5 years.
• Knowledge of basic janitorial techniques.
• Knowledge in the use and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of basic safety rules and applicable OSHA laws.
• Knowledge & skill in the proper use and disposal of cleaning chemicals & solutions.
• Ability to use and understand basic computer software.
• Basic oral and written communication skills including the ability to understand and follow directions in English and fill out basic reports via a computer.
• Skill in reading, following, and safely handling cleaning supplies per manufacturer’s instructions.
• Skill in dealing proactively and sensitively with customers and coworkers, with demonstrated commitment to King County values that include inclusion, fairness, and equity.
• Skill in performing multiple tasks together during the same timeframe.
• Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Skill in learning new methods and ways of doing work.
• Skill in problem‑solving and analytical skills required to solve common problems.

• Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a Washington State driver license within 30 days of hire.
• Forklift, Aerial Lift, and First‑Aid/CPR certifications must be acquired within 90 days of hire (training will be provided by employer).

• Constantly lift, carry and move objects of less than 25 pounds.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Work at heights reaching up to 40 feet.
• Walk continuously throughout the workday.

Must be able to work from high places using mechanical lift devices (which could include working on a boom lift or scissor lift). Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather.
