Warehouseman

The Warehouseman position provides efficient support in the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies; maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with Cooperative requirements; and perform routine maintenance and upkeep of the Cooperative’s warehouse and facilities to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

• Receives, cares for, disburses, and ships materials and supplies.
• Deliver materials to job sites using appropriate vehicles when required.
• Responsible for maintaining the warehouse, dock and adjacent yard orderly, clean, safe, and keeping the facility in good physical condition.
• Operates and assures maintenance of automotive equipment, forklift, and other mechanical equipment assigned to and used by warehouse personnel.
• Performs routine facility maintenance and minor building repairs; assists with preventative maintenance activities; coordinates and works alongside contractors performing maintenance and repair projects; and disassembles, assembles, and installs modular furniture and related workspace components as needed.
• Assists in making inventories of materials and supplies and coordinates potential shortages with the Faculties Supervisor.
• Assembles, stages, and verifies all materials and equipment required for staked construction and maintenance jobs to ensure they are complete, organized, and ready for loading onto crew vehicles.
• Documents and reports all material issued without a pick list, as well as materials that are returned, salvaged, or designated for disposal, in accordance with Policy #218, Disposal of Surplus Materials, and established inventory control procedures.
• Inspects, cleans, repairs, and reconditions materials, tools, and plant equipment for safe and continued use whenever practical and cost-effective.
• Labels all hazardous material containers upon receipt in accordance with applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and established safety procedures.
• Tests utility poles on the salvage rack to determine serviceability and either returns them to inventory for reuse or cuts them for disposal, as appropriate.
• Demonstrates, promotes, and consistently practices safe work habits in compliance with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assists in the pickup and delivery of materials from suppliers, vendors, and other locations as required.
• Completes required clerical and administrative tasks accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Individual must have an associate’s degree or the equivalent in the form of at least one year utility experience or three years of non-utility experience in related position.
• Must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions, duties and responsibilities of the job, which include, but are not limited to climbing, bending, lifting and carrying (physical job analysis is attached).
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and in writing with fellow employees and the public in a courteous effective manner.
• Must possess knowledge of personal computer (MS Office Professional Suite) word processing, spreadsheets, and database capabilities.
• Must reside within a 45‑minute driving radius of headquarters’ facility and be available via phone contact when being called out for after‑hours assistance.
• Must have an Oregon Class A CDL.
• Qualifications include demonstrated skills, knowledge, abilities, problem‑solving capability, and effective interpersonal skills.
• Must have facility maintenance experience.

This position is an Hourly/Union - IBEW - Local 125.

Hourly Salary: $24.65, per CBA
