Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Overview

This position coordinates, prepares, and processes all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely movement of materials within a manufacturing environment. The role involves inspecting incoming goods, verifying documentation, preparing outbound shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards. It also supports production and warehouse operations by organizing materials, tracking inventory levels, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain smooth workflow.

• Receive incoming materials, supplies, and products; verify quantities, quality, and documentation against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report issues to purchasing or management.
• Prepare and package outbound shipments, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and compliance with carrier and company standards.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records using company systems or software.
• Organize and stage materials for production use, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing areas.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as required.
• Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to schedule pickups, deliveries, and resolve shipping issues.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including the loading dock, warehouse, and storage locations.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position does not have management responsibilities.

• High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
• Additional coursework or certification in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain is a plus but not required.
• Training in forklift or material-handling equipment operation is a plus (may also be provided by employer).
