About the Job – Your Role

Warner Creek Correctional Facility is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Supply Specialist to join our General Services Team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that institutions, staff, and adults in custody (AICs) receive the supplies, property, and commissary items they need in a timely and accurate manner.

• Receive, request, store, ship, and record inventory at the outstation warehouse/commissary.
• Assign, instruct, and oversee work performed by AICs, including pulling supplies, loading trucks, and maintaining clean storage areas.
• Monitor, analyze, and reconcile computerized and physical inventories to ensure stocking levels are maintained.
• Forecast demand, reorder supplies, and rotate stock to minimize loss and waste.
• Inspect incoming shipments, resolve discrepancies with vendors or freight carriers, and prepare bills of lading.
• Package, wrap, label, and record products for shipment and delivery.
• Maintain and update computerized inventory systems (AFAMIS, TAG), including adding new products, recording transfers, archiving, and disposing of records.
• Communicate with staff and AICs regarding stock availability, ordering, and purchasing procedures.
• Drive state vehicles to pick up and deliver products.

Three years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, equipment or materials, maintaining inventory records, and shipping and receiving materials and equipment. Adopted Date: 10/01/2007.

• Experience in warehouse, supply chain, or inventory management operations.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and train AICs in work assignments.
• Knowledge of computerized inventory systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to resolve vendor or shipping issues.
• Experience with record-keeping, audits, and reconciliation of stock.

Salary Range: $5,599 - $7,383.

This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Requires physical ability to perform heavy lifting for short duration on daily basis, load and off-load supply shipments during inclement weather conditions, to work in
-20 degree storage unit; operation of equipment unique to warehouse operations, and subjected to hazards associated in accomplishment of assigned duties at the CDC, Institution Warehouses and Commissaries including control and custody of inmates. Security regulations require skills and knowledge of daily custody and supervision of Work of this position is reviewed by a Manager (see organization chart) by way of oral/written daily, weekly, and monthly reports relative to warehouse operations.

Purpose of the review is to assure supply operations accomplish the objectives and goals as mandated by Department of Corrections’ requirements for inmates assigned to the CDC and Commissary. Must maintain a general knowledge of security procedures and guidelines. Required reporting of all infractions of security regulations to immediate supervisor or security staff. Achieve maximum compliance in control and accountability of security keys and tools.

Prevent the introduction of contraband that could be used by inmates as weapons or provide a means of escape from custody.
