Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and compliant financial documents; auditing and reconciling the general ledger, specifically the balance sheet; and development of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) process, providing oversight of the process and generation of the ACFR. The Financial Services Department is developing a culture of innovation and process improvement thinking and enables its staff to develop their own ideas and be problem solvers.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related specialization AND
  • 3 years’ experience in general ledger accounting or similar.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience and working knowledge in creating and maintaining accurate, compliant financial documents; auditing and reconciling the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers and bank statements; and overseeing the development, process management, and generation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). They will also have experience analyzing and investigating internal audit and internal control issues, as well as providing recommendations related to those findings.
