We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with two to four years of accounting experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general accounting functions, assisting with month-end close, completing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. Experience supporting Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and Purchasing functions is a strong plus.

Staff

Accountant Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with two to four years of accounting experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general accounting functions, assisting with month-end close, completing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. Experience supporting Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and Purchasing functions is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.
Additional Responsibilities (Preferred)
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable (A/R), including invoicing, cash applications, collections, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable (A/P), including invoice processing, vendor payments, and vendor account reconciliations.
  • Assist with Purchasing activities, including purchase order processing, vendor communication, and tracking procurement transactions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Two to four years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Sage or a similar platform.
  • Experience supporting A/R, A/P, and Purchasing functions.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
