Strategic Sourcing Manager (Indirect) (Healthcare)
Work Hybrid (In office 3 days/week) within Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Utah.
About the RoleAs a member of the Sourcing Team, you’ll deliver best‑in‑class strategic sourcing, contract management, and negotiation for complex, indirect spend categories. You will develop category strategies, serve as the primary contact for business customers, and drive fact‑based group decisions with significant operational or financial impact.
Qualifications and Certifications- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
- 7 years of sourcing and contracting experience.
- Create and influence category strategies within assigned business units.
- Apply in‑depth knowledge to solve broad, complex issues and establish medium to long‑range plans.
- Lead favorable results through providing leadership to the function.
- Develop sustainable strategies for moderately complex categories that include spend analysis, market and geographic considerations, and strategic importance.
- Negotiate and manage moderate‑complexity contracts for assigned commodities, pursuing cost savings and favorable terms.
- Recommend and implement sourcing, contracting and supplier‑management policies and procedures that strengthen financial position and protect assets.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, including evaluation of existing contracts for savings.
- Develop sustainable sourcing strategies for assigned categories, considering spend profiles, market and geographic considerations, and organizational objectives.
- Lead sourcing events that produce value in alignment with organizational goals.
- Negotiate contracts and craft Statements of Work (SOW) for assigned categories to obtain best value.
- Prepare and present executive contract summaries and obtain approvals per governance policies.
- Create, manage and promote strong relationships with strategic suppliers and internal partners.
- Partner with Supplier Relationship Managers to resolve supplier issues.
- Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of sourcing and contract fundamentals.
- Prior experience in all elements of sourcing and category management for indirect services, including professional services and business process outsourcing.
- Experience in the 7‑step strategic sourcing process with emphasis on category strategy development, RFx processes, and contract management.
- Experience in desired spend categories.
- Project management skills, leading and prioritizing activities.
- Strong leadership and change‑management skills.
- Experience leading major sourcing events involving multi‑department stakeholders.
- Proven negotiation skills and application of key sourcing principles.
- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Competency in facilitating, leading and influencing decision‑making.
- Excellent problem‑solving and risk‑management skills.
- Ability to accomplish results through others by establishing relationships, controls and monitoring processes.
- Ability to develop and analyze business cases, spend analytics, and financial models.
- Ability to translate data into compelling information.
- Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision‑making (highly desired).
Expected hiring range: $ – $. Bonus target: 15%. Current full salary range: $95,000.00 – $.
