Role HighlightsThe International Metal Trader is a full-time Remote role
. This position is responsible for sourcing and trading non-ferrous metal scrap and related materials across international markets, including identifying suppliers, negotiating pricing, and securing contracts. Daily activities include monitoring global metal markets, analyzing price trends, managing inventory positions, and coordinating logistics with freight and shipping partners to ensure timely delivery. The trader will build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and suppliers, prepare and review trade documentation, and collaborate with internal teams on risk management, compliance, and payment terms.
The role also involves attending industry events and virtual meetings to expand market intelligence and business opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of international metal and scrap markets, pricing structures, and trade flows.
- Proficiency in negotiation, contract management, and supplier/client relationship development.
- Experience coordinating logistics, including shipping, customs documentation, and Incoterms.
- Ability to analyze market data, forecast trends, and make informed trading decisions.
- Comfort working with CRM systems, spreadsheets, and trade management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with attention to detail and risk awareness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field; relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education.
- Prior experience in commodities trading, particularly metals or scrap, is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
