Schedule:

Approximately 20 hours per week

Pay: $17.50/hour during a 3-month probationary period, increasing to $19.00/hour upon successful completion.

Availability

Required:

Late afternoons and evenings, with occasional weekend availability for special events.

Position Overview

OCA Media, a non-profit public access station, is seeking a dependable, creative, and technically minded Production Assistant & Content Manager to support our community media operations. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in video production, live event coverage, broadcasting, and media education while serving the Oregon community.

The ideal candidate enjoys working both independently and as part of a team, has an interest in video production and broadcasting, and is comfortable teaching and mentoring student camera operators.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and manage programming on OCA Media's two cable TV channels using Telvue broadcast software.
  • Assist the Executive Director with editing event recordings for rebroadcast, producing promotional videos, and completing additional video editing projects as assigned.
  • Train and mentor high school camera operators by teaching camera operation, event setup, sports and event coverage techniques, and troubleshooting production equipment.
  • Provide video coverage for community events when volunteer or student camera operators are unavailable. Events may include:
    • Village and School District Board meetings
    • High school athletic events
    • Fine arts performances
    • Library programs
    • Other community events
  • Assist in the production of original OCA Media programming, including shows such as Let's Talk Oregon.
  • Create video thumbnails, livestream intro videos, social media graphics, and other promotional materials to support OCA Media's programming.
