Compensation: $30 – $40 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Afghan Support Network (ASN) is seeking a Dari & Pashto Language Teacher to provide engaging and culturally enriching instruction as part of our Saturday School program. The teacher will work with students of varying ages and proficiency levels to develop their reading, writing, and speaking skills in both Dari and Pashto while fostering an appreciation for Afghan heritage. The position reports directly to Youth Program Coordinator and is a part‑time position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Teach Dari and Pashto language classes for 3.5 hours each week (Saturdays).
- Develop and deliver interactive, level‑appropriate lessons that enhance language fluency.
- Foster students’ understanding of Afghan culture and traditions through language instruction.
- Support students in improving speaking, reading, and writing through engaging activities.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide feedback on student progress to the Youth Program Coordinator.
- Participate in school activities, field trips, and cultural events as part of the Saturday School program.
- Fluency in Dari and Pashto (reading, writing, and speaking required).
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience (preferred but not required).
- Ability to design clear and engaging lesson plans.
- Basic English proficiency to communicate with staff and parents.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to supporting the Afghan community.
- Willingness to attend and participate in school events and programs.
