Southern Oregon Education Service District has a position opening for an Itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). The role serves all identified students aged birth–21 who are blind or low vision, based in Jackson and Josephine counties. Oregon certification as a Teacher of Visually Impaired is required; additional training in Orientation and Mobility is preferred.

Provide instruction and related services for visually impaired children in their homes, in local schools and within the community.
Essential FunctionsOregon Basic or Standard Visually Handicapped License.
Length of Position / Salary190 days (academic year) / 0.7 FTE. Per Collective Bargaining Agreement: $42,691.14 to $73,488.53 for the 2025‑2026 school year.
Immediate SupervisorPVI Department Chair and appropriate involvement of the Regional Programs Coordinator.
SOESD Benefits (For 0.5 FTE and Over)- Southern Oregon ESD contributes up to 2114.00 per month (family coverage) for health, dental and vision insurance premiums for qualified employees.
