Job Description:

Saybrook University is seeking an Admissions Specialist to join its enrollment management team. This remote‑work position focuses on recruiting students for degree programs and managing all stages of the admission process, from initial contact to enrollment.

Principal Duties
  • Clearly articulate the mission and value of the university to prospective students.
  • Provide superior customer service throughout the admission process.
  • Respond swiftly to new inquiries and maintain consistent communication with all students.
  • Complete a high volume of outbound calls daily to reach prospective students in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the Salesforce database, ensuring accurate documentation, call logs, and contact strategy.
  • Conduct telephone, virtual, and in‑person consultations to qualify prospective students on educational goals, explain programs, advise on admission requirements, and ensure all paperwork is completed properly.
  • Provide in‑depth counseling for undecided students.
  • Consistently meet behavioral and performance expectations outlined in the annual review.
  • Communicate academic department decisions in accordance with all policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Professional representation of the organization, recruitment within a diverse community, and meticulous adherence to policies.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, including persuasive negotiation, professional writing, public speaking, interpersonal and public relations abilities.
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years admissions experience.
  • Experience with student information systems, database management, and online marketing/recruitment highly desired.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Capability to lift at least 20 pounds, move furniture, and set up rooms for meetings.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
