Job Summary
The Natural Resources and Sustainability Program at OSU‑Cascades in Bend, Oregon invites applications for one or more fixed‑term, non‑tenure‑track Instructor positions to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an annual instructional position at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs. The anticipated start dates are September 16, 2025, December 16, 2025, March 16, 2026, or September 16, 2026.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and teach course(s) term‑by‑term in one or more of the following disciplines:
Natural Resources, Sustainability, Geology, Fish & Wildlife, Soil Science, Forestry. - Complete course assessment processes and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.
- Some courses may require driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university.
- Participate in advising and mentoring students by advising, offering office hours, and completing record‑keeping and minor administrative tasks.
- Master’s degree in Natural Resources, Sustainability, Geology, Fish & Wildlife, Forestry, or a related field.
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle history check and possession of a current, valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
- PhD or terminal degree in one of the listed fields or a related field.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level and a strong commitment to undergraduate education, equity, and service to students.
Work schedule may vary depending on student needs and campus or program activities.
CompensationSalary is commensurate with skills, education, and experience. Pay is on a monthly basis, with payment on the last working day of each month.
