Position Summary
The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources and Management invites applications for one or more 9‑month, fixed‑term, full/part‑time Instructors to teach on a term‑by‑term basis for the 2025‑2026 academic year. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an Instructor position at the discretion of the Department Head. The department comprises specialists in forest management, engineering, biometrics, hydrology, forest health, and silviculture, emphasizing active forest management and restoration for multiple land‑use objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and/or teach courses in undergraduate and graduate areas of the department.
- Prepare and present teaching materials; create and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams; assess grades; and hold office hours as necessary.
- Teaching assignments may be on‑campus or via E‑campus.
- Master’s degree or higher in Forestry or a closely related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Evidence of teaching excellence (e.g., student, peer or mentor evaluation).
- Experience with instruction of distance education courses.
- Demonstrated ability to design, teach, and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and promote equitable teaching practices.
Teaching in the classroom and may require conducting field trips.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary is commensurate with skills, education, and experience.
