Types of Student Employment- Federal Work Study – Your pay comes from financial aid eligibility.
- Department Funded – Your pay comes directly from the hiring department.
- Tuition Waiver – Instead of hourly pay, you work in exchange for a reduction in tuition costs. Tuition waivers are offered based on department availability and funding approval.

- Must be a current Chemeketa student taking at least 6 credits to qualify for this position.
- Requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- Upon hire, must pass a security inquiry which may include criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.
- Continuation of this position is dependent upon the funding that supports all or a part of the position.
- Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire.
- Employees must maintain Oregon or Washington residency as a condition of employment.
- Part‑time hourly positions will not exceed 900 working hours per fiscal year.
- Successful applicants must pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. Only information relevant to the position will be considered.
- Providing false information will result in rejection of an application, employment offer or dismissal.
Pay rate is dependent upon position. The student salary schedule can be found on the campus website. New students will begin at Step 1.
Work ScheduleApproximately 10 to 15 hours a week.
Essential Functions- Works independently, with minimum supervision.
- Establishes leadership roles and presence within the college.
- Answers general questions about the admissions process, classes, college life, and department.
- Recognizes when referral is appropriate and necessary.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Chemeketa Community College and its philosophy.
- Communicates and works effectively with students, staff, and the general public from diverse cultural, social, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Attends required team or department meetings/trainings.
- Assists with the use of resources, preparation of presentations and materials, special events, and research.
- May assist with front office coverage.
- Performs clerical tasks as assigned; uses computers and other office equipment.
- Uses appropriate technology to accomplish job functions.
- Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds.
