Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Exercise Science (January or August 2023)

The person hired for this position will provide classroom instruction primarily in biomechanics but must also be able to teach other exercise science courses such as assessment and prescription and research methods. This individual will also be expected to fulfill other academic duties including conducting research appropriate to the teacher‑scholar model, academic advising, mentoring of student research and other co‑curricular experiences, and provide service to the University and community.

• Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, or similar area (DPT, OTD, and related degrees included) by start date of employment.
• Teaching effectiveness or the potential for teaching effectiveness in exercise science and other related areas.
• Experience or willingness to teach biomechanics.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity, or the potential to be a productive scholar.
• Evidence of commitment to liberal arts and sciences education as a teacher‑scholar.

• Previous successful college/university teaching experience.
• Evidence or demonstrated potential for mentoring undergraduate research.
• Evidence or demonstrated potential for developing critical thinking and problem‑solving skills in students.
• Evidence or demonstrated potential for scholarly activity beyond the thesis or dissertation.
• ACSM EP‑C Certification.
