Mission StatementIn partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high quality services and support.
General DescriptionIn alignment with the NWRESD's mission statement, this position provides consultation, assessment and intervention services to families, staff and children with disabilities within the ESD's specialized programs and supports component school districts.
Qualifications- Master's degree, required, or higher
- Current Oregon School Psychologist License through TSPC with appropriate endorsement(s); or ability to obtain license within specified timeline
- Minimum two (2) years of school psychologist experience (any level) preferred
- Valid Driver's License; available transportation and proof of auto insurance
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Professionalism and effective human relations skills
- Regular communication with immediate supervisor
- Proficiency in computer and internet-based applications, including email, internet software, Google Suite, and word processing
- Thorough knowledge of special education laws and procedures
- Participate in screening and/or the development of pre-referral interventions
- Function as a team member in the evaluation process
- Assess referred children using a broad range of assessment instruments and techniques
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Family Service Plans and/or Individual Education Plans
- Consult with parents, teachers, and other educational personnel on child development and its effects on learning and behavior
- Provide consultation on the special education needs of children
- Provide individual, group, or consultative services for referred children with behavioral interventions
- Prepare and submit required documentation on children with disabilities
- Cooperate with and develop collaborative relationships with personnel of mental health, community health, and other agencies
- Attend staff, professional, and interagency meetings
- Assist in conducting in-service training of ESD and local school district personnel and community members
- Initiate and direct appropriate research approved by the ESD
- Keep abreast of new developments in the field
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels
- Perform other job duties as assigned
