What Youll Do and Who We Are Looking For

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program is seeking a full-time permanent EMS Program Specialist, located at PCC Cascade campus, to help our team support clinical coordination and EMS simulations. In this role, you would provide direct student instruction in the classroom, skills lab, and sim center including:

• Program and calibrate mannikins
• Maintain the simulation center and equipment
• Manage audio/video recording systems
• Develop and implement simulations
• Facilitate simulation sessions
• Conduct structured debriefings

This position also manages and coordinates the placement, activities, and documentation of students in clinical and field rotations which involves working with external clinical partners. Requires excellent communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a health services or related public safety field (fire protection, criminal justice, emergency management, paralegal). Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Military experience may be applicable depending on the nature of the experiences. Demonstrated experience as an EMT-Paramedic with prehospital and emergency medical experience. In addition to a Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience the position requires the following:

• State of Oregon Paramedic certification
• Oregon EMT Instructor certification
• Current CPR Instructor certification
• Basic Trauma Life Support or Prehospital Trauma Life Support Instructor certification.

Must be able to obtain the following certifications if required within six months of employment:

• ACLS Instructor certification
• PALS Instructor certification

Success Criteria

• Experience operating high-fidelity simulation equipment (e.g., Laerdal)
• Healthcare simulation certification (CHSE/CHSOS or equivalent) (Encouraged but not required)
• Provide direct student instruction in the classroom, skills lab, and sim center including:
• Program and calibrate mannikins
• Maintain the simulation center and equipment
• Manage audio/video recording systems
• Develop and implement simulations
• Facilitate simulation sessions
• Conduct structured debriefings

• Manage and coordinate the placement, activities, and documentation of students in clinical and field rotations.
• Coordinate, organize, and maintain student background checks, drug screens, and immunization record compliance in accordance with affiliate contracts.
• Communicate with department faculty and staff regarding the needs of the EMS program.
• Coordination, organization, inventory reporting, and maintenance for the EMS equipment/supply room/sim center.
• Participate in the coordination, evaluation, and organization of State Exams and program exams.
• Adapt to a flexible work schedule that will involve early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays with local travel.
