Description
Plan, organize, implement and oversee all procedures for ensuring a smooth, efficient operation that provides fun and safe learning experience for children. Ensure a comfortable trust in the parent’s minds; supervise instructor staff performances. Work cooperatively in providing fresh teaching and safety ideas to maintain the finest instructional staff and highest quality program.
State date will be the beginning of November 2026
RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the Ski & Ride School Director, Assistant Director and Managing Directors in accomplishing departmental and company goals.
- Supervise daily operations of Children’s program.
- Daily assign Instructors specific organizational duties.
- Oversee set-up of children's areas and ensure they are kept clean and look professional. Ensure these areas are ready to operate prior to guests’ arrival.
- Be aware of potential bottlenecks. Keep children moving efficiently through registration process and into classes.
- Oversee proper recording of children in classes, being careful to indicate specific needs.
- Oversee rental equipment and fitting operation.
- Assign classes on an equitable basis.
- Take appropriate action to ensure classes go out in a timely manner.
- Ensure class splits and student transfers are taken care of as quickly as possible
- Shadow classes to observe quality of instruction and be available to assist Children's staff.
- Ensure staff is accountable for the whereabouts of their students at all times.
- Oversee lunchroom operation to ensure proper set-up for the children's arrival.
- Serve as a liaison between parents, their children, instructors and other dept. members.
- Serve as a Timberline representative at various promotional functions relating to the Children's program.
- Assist in training Instructors and Jr. Instructors.
- Assist in accurately inputting payroll hours in AE for Jr. Instructors.
- Support the Ski & Ride School policies to staff members.
- Ensure progress cards are properly completed by each instructor.
- Convey supply needs for proper operations of Children's Program to Assistant Director.
- Perform all activities and duties of staff that report to this position.
- Other duties as assigned by Timberline management.
- Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
- Be familiar with Timberline Lodge and Ski Area information and communication network.
- Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
- Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
- Present a professional, quality image at all times.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Must have excellent guest service skills.
- Must have high-quality organizational skills.
- Must have current basic First Aid/CPR/AED training.
- Must be a member holding a current certification of PSIA/AASI
- Must have excellent communication skills with guests and staff.
- Must be able to consider each situation individually and act accordingly.
- Must be able to handle many situations simultaneously, in order of priority.
- Must have excellent management and leadership capabilities.
- Must have strong computer skills in but not limited to Word, Windows, Excel, Siriusware and basic computer functions.
- Must be able to lead employees and create a work environment which includes personal accountability, pride and fun.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to walk on snow and icy conditions, shovel snow, bend, lift and ski and or/ snowboard for 2-10 hours per shift.
- Must be able to operate basic snow removal machinery.
- Must be able to work in a high pressure, high energy environment.
- Must be knowledgeable of levels of ski and/or snowboard skills.
- Must possess proficient level ski and/or snowboarding skills.
