Oversees quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) for high‑voltage electrical substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards (IEEE, NESC, ANSI, OSHA), technical specifications, and safety protocols. Lead inspection teams, manage document control, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in accordance with contract requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
- Inspection and Testing: Oversee, plan, and conduct inspections (preparatory, initial, follow‑up) for substation equipment, civil works, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to design documents.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work meets NESC, ANSI, IEEE, and OSHA regulations, while enforcing a strong safety culture and STOP Work Authority for quality incidents.
- Documentation and Audits: Manage project document control (records, inspection reports, manuals) and conduct internal/subcontractor audits to verify compliance.
- Non‑Conformance and Root Cause: Identify quality incidents, report non‑conformances, and lead root cause analysis (RCA) to develop corrective/preventive actions.
- Vendor and Supplier Quality: Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, ensuring materials and fabricated components meet project specifications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Civil Engineering or related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of substation design, high‑voltage equipment, and protective schemes.
- Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE) or Auditor (CQA) is often preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills for working with engineering, construction, and client teams.
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to travel to project sites and manage multiple projects concurrently.
