Concept Plus is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for the CONUS Region to support the mission of a federal client and ensure that highly complex, technical infrastructure requirements are addressed. The Senior Network Engineer is a key personnel who identifies and resolves larger, more complex LAN/WLAN/WAN network problems and issues, researches network‑level problems using network management tools, and is responsible for providing high‑level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of LAN/WLAN/WAN communication equipment for all client facilities.
Serves as the premier Network Specialist for this contract and the subject matter expert for all issues covered under other jobs discussed within.
- Serve as the CONUS, as well as global, point of contact for network issues, configuration management, and communications interconnection, addressing, and multi‑protocol routing and network management.
- Advise and consult with client staff, agencies, and other contractor representatives involved with LAN/WLAN/WAN design, network implementation, network deployment, and network management to ensure the LAN/WLAN/WAN adequately supports the mission and provides optimal performance. Interface with and lead Network Specialists and internal or external organizations to resolve LAN/WLAN/WAN issues.
- Resolve technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the client model through the use of diagnostics and network administration tools such as Orion Solar Winds, ARMIS, and Ansible. Understand Management Information Blocks (MIB) and MRTG to measure, plan, and execute methodologies to ensure high performance levels and minimum downtime.
- Maintain LAN/WLAN/WAN security, preventing unauthorized access to MTF systems. Establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs.
- Provide written recommendations to field personnel by making changes to network‑level operations or enhancements to the network, documenting changes via a ticket, creating a written standard, or updating existing standards in coordination with the NetMOD Network Standards Team.
- Study vendor products to determine which components and configurations best meet client requirements in the CONUS region.
- Establish and implement LAN/WLAN/WAN procedures and standards to ensure compliance with client objectives and policies. Communicate with key customers on the status of all network support requests.
- Continuously evaluate and resolve complex technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the model.
- Use diagnostics and network administration tools.
- Provide proactive input on policies and issues related to standardization, and develop and write policies and procedures that identify best practice solutions necessary for operations in support of the LAN/WLAN/WAN.
- Define and establish minimum standards related to LAN/WLAN/WAN access and its impact on overall network operations.
- Lead or participate in other projects and provide support as needed.
