Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer
Remote (Mountain or Pacific Time) | Travel Required | $120,000 - $130,000 /yr | Full-Time
A well established and growing aerospace and defense manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality and innovation is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a remote opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact on supplier performance and product quality within a company that truly cares about its people.
What You'll Do:
- Qualify and manage suppliers in line with aerospace and defense industry standards, including AS9100 and program specific requirements
- Conduct supplier audits, technical capability assessments, and ongoing surveillance to ensure continued compliance
- Review and approve First Article Inspections per AS9102, ensuring alignment with engineering drawings and contractual specs
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve supplier non-conformances
- Provide technical guidance on machining, surface finishing, painting, and related aerospace manufacturing processes
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T to evaluate supplier performance
- Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance
- Participate in Material Review Boards and support decisions involving supplier related defects
- Maintain and improve documentation, inspection criteria, and quality records
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in a quality or supplier engineering role within the aerospace and defense industry
- Strong working knowledge of machining processes, coatings and painting, and high precision manufacturing
- In depth understanding of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience with supplier auditing, quality planning, and process validation
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation
- Willingness to travel to supplier locations, up to 75 percent
