Entry Level
Willamette Pass Resort is looking for a Dispatcher to be the communications hub of our mountain. You'll coordinate lift status, radio and phone traffic, and emergency communications throughout the day, and you'll also spend time supporting Ski Patrol with basic first aid and walk-in patient care during quieter stretches. If you're calm under pressure, organized, and like being the person people count on, we'd love to hear from you.
WhatYou'll Do
- Keep the mountain connected — running morning radio checks, tracking lift status, and relaying information between departments all day.
- Be the point of contact for emergencies, including calling 911 when needed, working closely with Ski Patrol leadership and mountain management.
- Keep clear records — daily logs, incident reports, and radio logs — so nothing falls through the cracks.
- Support Ski Patrol with basic first aid and walk-in patient care during slower periods.
- Help keep guests informed of mountain status updates, working alongside our Marketing team.
- Pitch in on other tasks around the Patrol building and dispatch desk as needed.
- At least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to get certified before your start date.
- A calm head and good judgment under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle radio, phone, and paperwork at the same time.
- Comfort with basic computers — we'll train you on our specific dispatch systems and software.
- No prior radio experience needed — we'll teach you.
- Availability for early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous dispatch, emergency communications, ski patrol, or ski area experience.
- Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification, or willingness to work toward it.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace or similar tools.
None of these are deal breakers — they're simply a bonus.
Good to Know- This role is based primarily indoors at the dispatch desk/Ski Patrol building, with some time spent outdoors moving between buildings in winter conditions.
- You will need to be comfortable walking on snow and uneven terrain, and occasionally helping lift or move patients or equipment (up to about 50 lbs).
- You do not need to know how to ski or snowboard for this role.
