Our client is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager II to lead the Med/Surg Oncology unit in Clackamas, OR. This leadership role is responsible for driving excellence in patient care delivery, staff development, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance within a 24/7 hospital environment. The ideal candidate is a skilled nurse leader with a strong background in acute care operations, staff engagement, and evidence-based practice.
Position Type: (24/7 operational responsibility).
Leadership & Staff Development- Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and succession planning to support team development.
- Hire, train, and evaluate staff performance, setting clear expectations and promoting continuous learning.
- Oversee daily operations of Med/Surg Oncology units to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Implement best practice models, patient care delivery systems, and nursing practice standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, external providers, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage resource allocation, staffing, and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Support emergency preparedness planning and staff training.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards (e.g., Nursing Practice Act, Joint Commission).
- Drive initiatives to improve quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency.
- Lead continuous survey readiness, audits, and risk management activities.
- Develop and monitor department budgets, payroll, and cost-containment strategies.
- Contribute to organizational strategy by identifying process improvements and implementing cross-functional initiatives.
- Align departmental goals with hospital-wide objectives for quality, affordability, and efficiency.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in patient care delivery.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of leadership experience (with or without direct reports).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon (required at hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire).
