Employment Type: Full‑time, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday
Location: East Cancer Center (Clackamas, OR)
Salary Range: $18.68–$25.22 per hour (final offer based on experience and internal equity)
Job ScopeUnder direct supervision, responsible for greeting patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, ensuring all forms are complete, accurate, and signed according to company guidelines. Acts as a liaison between patient and medical staff, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Obtain all appropriate forms as required.
- Collect demographic and insurance information.
- Obtain copies of patients’ insurance cards and current driver’s license for file.
- Update demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.
- Register new patients into the system.
- Prepare and organize new patient charts.
- Notify nursing staff of patient arrivals, placing charts in appointment order.
- Assist in preparing charts for the next day’s appointments and print schedules as needed.
- Collect co‑pays, deductible and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at the time of visit.
- Issue receipts if necessary.
- Distribute condolence cards to patients’ families as requested.
- Maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Identify no‑shows and forward for patient notification.
- Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
- Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
- Cover for other front office functions as requested.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, forms and other typing as requested by supervisor.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum 0–3 years of professional office experience preferred.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multi‑task at a high patient volume front desk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable customer service skills.

Physical DemandsPhysical demands:
Long periods of sitting, stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity for keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing within normal range for telephone contacts. Work requires prolonged computer screen time.
