Job Overview
Echocardiograph Technologist at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR. Per Diem/Variable Shift. Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician’s orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, transesophageal echocardiography, trans‑catheter echo‑guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo‑guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast‑enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.
Qualifications- Oregon Sonographer upon hire.
- National Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire or, National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.
- National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire.
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
- Associate’s Degree – Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- 1 year – Experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations or minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
- Pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
- Experience with echo‑guided trans‑catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center).

Pay RangeBase pay range: $46.81 – $72.66 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
