Job Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Research Laboratory Technician (Contract) to support clinical trials and biospecimen-related research activities. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality sample handling, proper documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards within a clinical research setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory procedures related to clinical trial samples, including processing, aliquoting, centrifugation, labeling, and storage according to study protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and complete sample logs, chain-of-custody documentation, and lab records in compliance with GCP/ICH guidelines.
  • Prepare and ship biological samples (e.g., blood, urine, swabs) to central labs using appropriate packaging and temperature controls.
  • Maintain laboratory instruments (centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, pipettes, etc.).
  • Assist clinical research coordinators with specimen collection setup and visit preparation.
  • Track and manage lab supplies, kits, and inventory for ongoing studies.
  • Participate in site audits, monitoring visits, and quality control activities.
  • Follow all site SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Basic laboratory experience (academic or professional).
  • Strong understanding of biospecimen handling, safety, and sterile technique.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Preferred qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in science with previous experience in specimen processing and shipping
Working Conditions
  • Work performed in a clinical and laboratory environment with routine exposure to biological specimens.
  • Occasional early morning/late evening sample processing may be required based on study visit times.
