Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue is seeking applicants for the position of Firefighter/EMT. The FF/EMT is responsible for fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical, and related activities during their assigned shift. As well as weekly apparatus checks and SCBA checks, station and ground maintenance and other duties as assigned. The FF / EMT will work with the department Wildfire Prevention and Mitigation Specialist to complete tasks and ensure response readiness.

Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue is seeking a skilled, motivated, and innovative leader to fill a Firefighter / EMT position. This is a full-time position with a shift of five (5) eight (8) hour days / 40hrs a week + overtime. The current shift is Saturday – Wednesday 0900 – 1700. Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue can offer residency at the station 1301.
Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue was established in 2008, after moving from Three Rivers Volunteer Fire Department. Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue has a rich history of serving its citizens. Located in the heart of Central Oregon, Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue is located above Lake Billy Chinook in rural Jefferson County, Oregon. The district covers approximately 105 square miles of range land mixed with residential areas.
We serve the communities of Grandview (Rim Park, Forest Park Estates, Air Park), Three Rivers LOA, Geneva and other outlying areas. We are home to approximately 300 full-time residents, and a seasonal influx of an estimated 4,000 – 5,000 seasonal residents, tourists and other visitors. Lake Chinook Fire and Rescue is a combination department with most staff being volunteers. Ambulance transport is provided primarily by Jefferson County Fire and EMS.
ideal candidate:
Has strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, along with the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations. Is self-motivated and a hard worker.
Minimum qualifications:Minimum 1 year paid or volunteer in the fire and EMS field, Firefighter I, EMT basic, ICS 100, ICS 200, NWCG Wildland Firefighter type 2, apparatus operator, valid Oregon drivers license.
Desired qualifications:NFPA pumper operator, NWCG wildland firefighter type I, NWCG Engine Boss, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, ICS 700, ICS 800 and Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior S-290 and Wildland Chainsaws S-212 with FAL3 (entry level feller)
