The Merchants Exchange team brings more than 50 years combined experience hosting and producing special events in San Francisco. From planning and logistics, to production, management, and in-house gourmet catering, Merchants Exchange Productions is the only fully-verticalized event production service tied exclusively to three of The City’s finest venues - Julia Morgan Ballroom, Merchants Exchange Club and Credo Restaurant. That’s why every program hosted by Merchants Exchange Productions is more than an event, it’s a true San Francisco experience.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a warm and welcoming approach to all guests that creates memorable experiences
- Knowledgeable about spirits, cocktails, beer and wine (preparation, techniques, taste profile, origins, varietals, appellations, regions, aromas, etc…)
- Maintain an organized work space to multitask efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Exceed guests’ expectations at every opportunity
- “Read” event to anticipate guests’ needs
- Respond promptly and courteously to any and all guests’ requests, questions and concerns
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members regardless of duty or difficulty
- Be a contributing team member to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the events
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a banquet/events bartender in a comparable setting
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Excellent English verbal and written skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Able to multitask throughout service
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be a proven self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision
- Highly reliable, adaptable and punctual
- Available to work a flexible schedule that will include nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by the events schedule
- A current California Food Handlers Certificate
- Have regular access to e-mail and the internet
Have the stamina to work up to 10 hours - standing and walking the duration of the event - Ability bend, stoop lift 25+ lbs, reach overhead and perform repetitive motion
- May involve walking between departments and climbing stairs between floors
