PositionDescription:
The Oregon School District is seeking to fill a Human Resources Benefits Specialist position.
This position may work in all aspects of the Human Resources Departments such as:
- Hiring
- Licensing
- Job postings
- Employee benefits including insurances and Wisconsin Retirement System
- FMLA
- Workers Compensation
- Unemployment compensation
- Disability rights
- EEOC reporting
- Payroll.
This position also provides critical support to the General Counsel / Executive Director of Human Resources with a variety of human resources and administrative support duties, such as mailings, meeting planning, data entry, proof-reading and filing.
This person will be part of a dynamic HR Department Team who focuses on providing the best support to the wonderful educators and staff in our District.

This position is on-site, 5 days a week, but can be remote up to 2 days per week in the summer. The start date is flexible for the right person. The work hours are flexible and are generally 8:00 a.m.

The person hired for this position should have a positive attitude, be student-centered, be passionate about providing the best customer service, be detail-oriented, be supportive and empathetic with staff who are experiencing challenging situations, enjoy being part of a highly skilled team of wonderful coworkers, prioritize finding solutions when mistakes happen as they always do and hate being bored because we are a busy department and we love our work.
Occasional nights and weekend work may be needed. This position is a full-year position with the department being quite busy in the summer.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Post‑secondary education is strongly preferred.
- A SHRM or PHR certification or the desire to obtain one is preferred.
Preferred skills:
- Experience in human resources and employee benefits such as FMLA, long‑term disability, workers compensation, health, dental and life insurance is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with parents, staff, students and community members.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- High proficiency with current technology and computer platforms such as Skyward, Infinite Campus and/or the ability to continually learn and upgrade technology skills.
- Ability to work independently to manage time and work in a systematic and organized way to prioritize and complete projects with little or no supervision.
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy required.
- Superior customer service.

From $60,000.00 per year
