Data Center Operations Manager, DCC

Must have:

• A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
• Minimum of 2 years experience in network and operating system support, or a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
• Proficient communication skills
• Experience in conducting interviews and making sound hiring choices
• Project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2) is preferred
• Familiarity with AWS products such as EC2, EBS, and S3

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of a Data Center, ensuring smooth functioning
• Assign and prioritize trouble tickets for data center staff and technicians
• Manage the performance of a diverse group of professionals across various locations
• Develop career paths and update internal tools for team members
• Recruit and train data technicians to maintain adequate staffing
• Effectively manage day-to-day data center operations, including queue management and shift arrangements
• Quickly learn and become the subject matter expert in all areas of data center operations
• Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are tracked and achieved
• Drive improvements in team processes, technological advancements, and automation
• Lead large-scale events, such as outages, and serve as the call leader
• Enhance workflows and productivity within data center operations
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and meet required SLAs
• Coordinate the on-call schedule, managing absences and vacations
• Maintain a strong focus on service quality and customer satisfaction, continually seeking improvement opportunities
