PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $-$ annually. The full Pay Range is $91,000.00 - $ annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job‑related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant.

Incentives are performance‑based and targets vary by role.

Impact You'll Make

As a Cybersecurity Engineer at BECU, you’ll play a crucial role in securing and maintaining a seamless enterprise infrastructure that supports our mission of delivering uninterrupted service to our members. You’ll design, implement, and manage solutions across a complex, multi‑platform environment, contributing directly to our cybersecurity posture. This position puts you at the forefront of protecting BECU’s systems—from data protection and identity management to enabling disaster recovery—ensuring we stay ahead of potential threats while enhancing our cybersecurity maturity.

You’ll also bring strong network security expertise and scripting skills to elevate our defenses, reduce manual work, and enhance automation across security platforms.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, , AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote.

Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

What You'll Do
  • Strengthen Network Security:
    You’ll apply your network security expertise across firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation to help secure BECU’s hybrid environment.
  • Automate & Improve Security Operations:
    Use scripting (Power Shell, Python, or similar) to automate routine tasks, optimize workflows, and improve tool efficiency.
  • Evaluate and Implement Cybersecurity Tools:
    Contribute to the evaluation, implementation, and operation of cybersecurity tools and services. Troubleshoot issues, ensuring functionality and stability, and work with peers and management to improve efficiency.
  • Lead Incident Response Investigations:
    As a frontline forensics’ expert, you will take charge of investigating security breaches from the moment they are detected. You’ll ensure the immediate containment of threats and lead efforts to trace and mitigate the attack.
  • Adapt Policies & Standards:
    Help enhance and adjust BECU’s policies, standards, and guidelines to keep up with evolving threats and technologies.
  • Analyze & Resolve Issues:
    Perform root cause analysis on cybersecurity tooling issues, ensuring thorough follow‑through and resolution.
  • Identify Upgrades & Gaps:
    Pinpoint necessary upgrades to products and platforms while identifying operational gaps. Contribute to the development of performance and security metrics based on technology usage.
