Overview
The Interop Lab Technician for the Connectivity Standards Alliance will be responsible for day-to-day activities associated with the development and maintenance of the Alliance’s interop devices within an interop lab setting, which includes member-facing tools (i.e., test harnesses, reference devices, etc.), and other member-related technical support activities.
Key Responsibilities / Job Duties Interoperability Testing (primary role)- Conduct interoperability testing with wireless (Zigbee/802.15.4) IoT devices
- Help maintain and configure interoperability devices on the network
- Collect air sniffer traffic and traces (if applicable) for troubleshooting issues
- Analyze devices’ behavior based on captured air sniffer traffic
- Bug reporting
- Generate test report for a tested device and share it with a device manufacturer
- Provide reports on failed devices to CSA certification group
- Help clients (members) in configuration and debugging of network devices.
- QA testing of internal web applications
- Help with general organization and inventory related to the interop lab
- Interoperability Test plan and test configuration triage
- Special Project Support, as requested.
- Demonstrated knowledge of wireless communication principles
- Knowledge/experience with Zigbee and optionally other IEEE 802.15.4 based protocols
- Testing of wireless network devices.
- Knowledge of Wireless Networking and Configuration
- Experience in capturing network traces (i.e., Wireshark)
- Experience in Linux, Windows, and MacOS Operating Systems
- Experience in test plan execution and bug reporting
- Experience in Quality Assurance testing (Black box and White Box) for hardware devices
- Experience in Quality Assurance website and application testing
- Testing Equipment configuration and debugging
- Inventory Management
- Experience of working with a small team
- Experience with web-based applications
- Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience
- Self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working/collaborating across a geographically diverse team
