Cumberland Heights is a nationally recognized addiction treatment organization, and the technology that supports our clinical teams directly impacts patient outcomes. As a Systems Administrator, you will own the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure that connects our staff and systems across two dozen locations.
This is a high-ownership position. You will move beyond ticket-driven work to proactively identify risks, build resilient systems, and raise the technical bar across the organization. Infrastructure & Cloud Systems- Administer Windows Server environments and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra )
- Manage identity and access controls including Active Directory, group policies, and MFA
- Oversee endpoint management at scale using Intune and/or SCCM
- Monitor uptime, performance, and capacity across all locations — and fix issues before users notice them
- Own the security posture: patch cycles, endpoint protection, MFA enforcement, and vulnerability remediation
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and actively support audit readiness
- Lead incident response for infrastructure-related security events
- Manage backup systems and verify data integrity on a regular cadence
- Maintain, document, and periodically test disaster recovery plans — not just write them
- Support multi‑site connectivity including VPNs, firewalls, and routing configurations
- Troubleshoot escalated network and infrastructure issues across all facilities
- Document systems, configurations, and runbooks to eliminate single points of failure
- Cross‑train team members and actively contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing
- Partner with help desk, developers, and leadership to deliver infrastructure that enables the mission
- Lead or support implementation of new systems, migrations, and tooling rollouts
- Receive day‑to‑day technical direction and guidance from the Senior Systems Administrator, who sets priorities, reviews work, and provides mentorship on infrastructure decisions
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Systems Administrator on cross‑site projects, escalations, and infrastructure planning; formally reports to the Chief Science Officer (CSO)
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 4+ years in a systems administration or infrastructure engineering role
- Hands‑on experience with Windows Server environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra
- Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing
- Experience with endpoint management platforms (Intune, SCCM, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Background in healthcare IT or other regulated environments (HIPAA experience a strong plus)
- Scripting and automation skills in Power Shell or Bash
- Hands‑on cloud infrastructure experience with Azure or AWS
- Relevant certifications:
Microsoft (e.g., AZ‑104), CompTIA (Security+, Network+), or Cisco
- Reliability:
Measurable reduction in unplanned downtime and incident frequency - Security Posture:
Consistent patching cadence, strong MFA adoption, clear audit trail - Resilience:
Tested DR plans, no single points of failure in critical systems - Documentation:
Runbooks and system docs that the team actually uses - Team Capability:
