Key Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed.
- Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help train and onboard new team members.
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations.
- Travel within and outside the regional work area as required, and maintain a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in cramped and/or elevated locations; bend, lift, stretch, and reach as needed.
- Stand and walk up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and the operational status of the assigned facility.
- Candidate must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required.
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base and engage other teams when needed to drive resolution.
- Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context.
- Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
- 1+ year of computer networking experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience working in a data center environment.
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent relevant professional or military experience (e.g., computer science, networking engineering).
- Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting.

PDX is an AWS Gov Cloud region. As required by contracts with the federal government, effective February 24, 2026, logical access to the AWS Gov Cloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. citizens. Gov Cloud may NOT be accessed from outside the United States.
NOTE:
A lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.
Salary: US OR Boardman – $27.00 – $48.00 USD hourly
US OR Hermiston – $27.00 – $48.00 USD hourly
US OR Umatilla – $27.00 – $48.00 USD hourly
