Position: Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expect (SME) IV

Joining Gray Link Technologies LLC as a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) IV on an Enterprise Zero Trust Program for a DoD client, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design, development, and operation of Zero Trust security solutions.
  • Ensuring alignment of designs with customer requirements and the DoD Zero Trust Execution Roadmap.
  • Researching and evaluating new technologies to identify opportunities for security enhancements.
  • Leading the development and fielding of secure network solutions to protect against advanced persistent threats.
  • Analyzing security systems and seeking continuous improvements.
  • Ensuring adherence to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Collaborating with other teams, including network and hardware teams, to ensure security is integrated into the overall system.
  • Briefing client leadership on design decisions and system operations.

This role requires a highly skilled cybersecurity professional with expertise in Zero Trust architecture, security engineering, risk management, and the implementation of enterprise security solutions within Department of Defense environments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to effectively assess technologies to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with ethical hacking techniques to identify vulnerabilities in systems.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and solve complex problems.
  • Thorough understanding of Zero Trust security in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest security threats and technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and emerging technologies.

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Current Secret clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and integrating large-scale Zero Trust solutions.
  • Knowledge of DoD Zero Trust requirements as defined in the DoD Zero Trust Execution Roadmap.
  • Experience working in a DoD environment with knowledge of computer and network security concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience implementing security tools and methodologies supporting Zero Trust capabilities, including EDR, UEM/MDM, ICAM, network access control, micro-segmentation, data protection, and data tagging.
  • Experience integrating SIEM/SOAR solutions for cybersecurity monitoring and automated response.
  • Experience configuring and securing Linux, Windows, and UNIX operating systems.
  • Experience implementing network scanning and automation tools such as Tenable, Remedy, OSCAP, Ansible, and similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of encryption algorithms and cybersecurity best practices.

DESIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Awareness of cybersecurity and compliance standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
  • Previous experience working in a DoD STIG/RMF environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related discipline.
